Special Events

Part of our vision as a parish church is to be a Church of Leadership Teaching Leadership.  Recognizing that for those who have been given more, more will be expected (Luke 19:26, Matthew 25:15), St. Bartholomew’s will share our leadership findings and gifting with other local congregations, our diocese, and our national and international Anglican church.  We want to share the gifts that God gives us, not hoard them.

We are always seeking opportunities to bring exciting and sound teachings, events and community activities that engage people where they are in their faith journey.  Some of the events that we have sponsored are:

Hear what comfortable words our Saviour Christ saith unto all who truly turn to him.

COME unto me, all ye that travail and are heavy laden, and I will refresh you. St. Matt. xi. 28.

So God loved the world, that he gave his only-begotten Son, to the end that all that believe in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. St. John iii. 16.

Hear also what Saint Paul saith.
This is a true saying, and worthy of all men to be received, That Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners. 1 Tim. i. 15.

Hear also what Saint John saith.
If any man sin, we have an Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous; and he is the Propitiation for our sins. 1 St. John ii. 1, 2.

We at St. Barts are . . .

Christian  Followers of Jesus Christ as our Savior and Lord who seek to fully worship God, to love our neighbor as we love ourselves and to proclaim through the power of the Holy Spirit the Good News that God so loved the world that he gave his only Son so that those who believe in him shall have eternal life.

Anglican  We are part of the Body of Christ: The One Holy Catholic and Apostolic Church established by Jesus ca. 33 AD and draw our Christian roots from the Church in Britain established during the apostolic era.  As such, we subscribe to the Holy Bible as containing all things necessary for salvation, the Historic Creeds of the Catholic (Universal) Church and Anglican formularies and are both Catholic and Reformed.

Episcopal  We are governed by a Bishop and successor to the Holy Apostles and subscribe to three Biblical orders of ministry that come from the people (laity):  Deacons, Priests, and Bishops.  The Rt Rev Mark J. Lawrence, is the XIV Bishop of South Carolina and The Rev Dr Michael E Ridgill, CfSB, SSC is the Rector of St. Bartholomew's Parish.

Not perfect but are forgiven sinners and invite you to join us for Worship, Christian Education, Service and Proclamation of the Gospel.  It has been said that the church is both a hospital for sinners and a gymnasium for making saints.

Where do I start?  Join us for worship, the best way to know what we do, is to experience what we do in community.
