Worship & Study at a Glance
“Welcome to a 'thin place' where because of the daily prayers and worship in this place the distance between heaven and earth is very thin. Not because of what we have done, but because God enters this space and time and makes it Holy. This is a place where you can come rest, study, grow and share. It is a place to be, it is a place to become. Welcome to a thin place.” ~ From the verger's greeting upon entering St. Paul's, Jarrow, home of the Venerabe Bede, founded 681 AD (1,327 years ago).
But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
To him be the glory both now and to the day of eternity. Amen.

Adult Christian Education
Sundays at 9:15 am meeting in the parish library and Parish Hall. There are two tracts for Adults of all ages.
In the library, we are using our own Bible based curriculum that is run concurrently with the other Christian education classes in the parish. We read sections from the Holy Scriptures and discuss how to apply God's Word in our daily lives.
In the parish hall, we are offering a Young Adults and Parenting Class. The class is open to everyone of all ages who have an interest or interaction with children and youth.
Children's Christian Education
We are using a unified Bible Curriculum, "FaithWeaver" for children's faith formation. These relationship-building Bible studies help children grow in their relationship with God and others as they apply the Bible to their lives. We are also using "Godly Play" for pre-school and elementary age children. This is a montessori based program that encourages a child's natural curiosity and connection with God throuogh Biblical Story, manipulatives, and exploratory work and creativity time. For more information, click on Children's Ministry as well as continuing below.
Childrens Chapel
During the 10:30 a.m. service, children ages 3-11 are invited to worship and explore the day's Gospel lesson on their level. Children begin worship in the church with their parents and leave after the Collect (Prayer) of the Day. The children return at the Passing of the Peace. Children's Chapel is based on the Liturgy of the Word that occurs during our regular worship, but is simplified and on a child's level of understanding and interest.
Wednesday Evening Kingdom Kids with Musikgarten on Wednesdays and Thursdays
After the Wednesday Evening Eucharist, a light supper is provided and the Wednesday program for children begins at 6:30 pm. Kingdom Kids is designed for preschool and elementary age children and is led by Kathy Walker, Minister to Families. See Children's Ministry for more information. Musikgarten, a music studio that teaches preschool children and their parents early childhood music and movenment in a fun and interactive setting is offered by Devvy Ridgill on Wednesdays (ages 3 and under) and on Thursdays (ages 3 - 5).
Youth @ St Barts
For our Youth @ St. Barts, we seek to dynamically engage the youth with life application from the Bible so that they are prepared for the challenges ahead of them but in an environment that is fun and exciting. The Youth @ St. Barts meet on Sunday mornings at 9:15 am and have a first Sunday evening meeting at parishioner's homes.
Weekday Worship and Study Opportunities

Daily Holy Eucharist, (Sunday - Friday)
8:00 am in the chapel following Morning Prayer. The daily week-day Eucharist (Mon - Fri) is the perfect way to get you spiritually going in the morning before work. As a said Eucharist, with a brief homily, generally we conclude worship by 8:30 am allowing the perfect preparation for daily work or activities. On Sundays, the liturgy last a bit longer with a more expansive homily and the opportunity for Christian Education beginning at 9:15 am. Coffee and conversation follow in the Parish Hall for those who are able to stay and enjoy more fellowship.
The Church is Open Daily for Prayer Sunday - Friday
Feel free to come in and pray in either the chapel, church, or on the grounds. There are beautiful outdoor settings for prayer, reading or contemplation in the Memory Garden (near the front of the church), Parish Cloister (open space in the center of the facilities), on on the green close before the shine of St. Francis (Garden at the back of the church in the playground area). Clergy are available for prayer, conversation, and confession -- just stop by the office.

Wednesday Bible Study
Wednesdays at 11:00 am meeting in the parish library until 12:00 pm for active and engaging Bible Study. The format is simple and relaxed. Each week we pickup where we left-off, reading a section of scripture and discussing it using life application and study bibles that are provided for your convenience. This is a great way to begin growing deeper in the faith by reading the bible and sharing our thoughts and experiences as we seek to live out God's word.
Wednesdays at 7:00 pm meeting in the parish library until 8:00 pm for active and engaging Bible Study. We use study bibles and a format that doesn't require prior biblical knowledge, but seeks to read the Bible with a sense of applying its message to our daily lives.
Special Events

Part of our vision as a parish church is to be a Church of Leadership Teaching Leadership. Recognizing that for those who have been given more, more will be expected (Luke 19:26, Matthew 25:15), St. Bartholomew’s will share our leadership findings and gifting with other local congregations, our diocese, and our national and international Anglican church.
